Clothing Trade Shows and Fashion Events To Attend In The 2019/2020 Year

There are many events available to those in the fashion industry, ranging from fashion shows to trade shows to showcases. Events like these are great opportunities for new fashion designers to network, learn more about the fashion industry, meet fashion buyers from major department stores and boutiques, and eat some great food.
Here is a list of 9 fashion events (located in the United States) in the 2019/2020 year.
1. Project Womens
August 4-6, 2019
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (NYC)
Project Womens offers a collection of women’s brands, both already established and up-and-coming. This event offers two showcases – one that features notable fashion brands and the other that presents sustainable and cause-oriented brands.
The Jacob Javits Center simultaneously offers the Accessorie Circuit, an event dedicated to the women’s accessories market, showcasing different accessory collections to upscale retailers.
2. Children’s Club
August 4-6, 2019
Pier 94 (NYC)
The Children’s Club features children’s clothing for kids ranging from newborn to tween. Categories include, but are not limited to: footwear, clothes, accessories, toys, etc. It is “an excellent opportunity to be seen by major department stores, online retailers, and better children’s specialty boutiques.”
3. Sourcing At Magic
August 11-14, 2019
Las Vegas Convention Center (Las Vegas)
This event caters to designers, brands, and retailers looking to learn more about the fashion industry and how to accelerate their business. Sourcing At Magic brings in people from all around the world, typically representing as many as 40 different countries.

4. JA New York
August 11-14, 2019
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (NYC)
Hailed as the “leading jewelry trade show in the Tristate area,” JA New York is a way for jewelry brands to connect with retail buyers from around the globe. This fast-paced marketplace gives jewelers their chance to garner customers and showcase their products.
5. Designer Debut at NY Fashion Week
September 6, 2019
The Watson Hotel - 440 W 57th St (NYC)
This fashion show allows new designers to present their 2020 Spring/Summer collections to trailblazers and authority figures in the fashion world. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the runway starts at 8.
6. The Capsule
Sep 14-16, 2019
Piers 94 - 711 12th Ave (NYC)
New York Women’s spearheads this event that exhibits independent labels alongside veterans in the industry. This women’s-only trade show is a hub for varied brands and artisans. Capsule’s mission is to “inspire the progressive, culturally-aware woman to keep her ahead of the curve of what’s next in fashion.”
7. Altitude Summit
March 1-6, 2020
The Saguaro Palm Springs (Palm Springs)
The Altitude Summit is a week-long conference for female influencers and entrepreneurs in the creative fields. This juncture allows women to connect with, learn from, and inspire each other.
8. Boston Design Week
March 25-April 5, 2020
Boston
This 12-day gala celebrates all aspects of design. In just a short period of time, it hosts more than 70 events for fashion designers, interior designers, and urban planners alike. And the best part is: 90% of the events are free!

9. Emerging Fashion Designers Showcase
April 18, 2020
MGM National Harbor – 101 National Harbor Boulevard
Oxon Hill (Maryland)
This fashion show caters to designers looking to network with others and present their designs. At 3 p.m., there is a Meet and Greet event, followed by a 4 o’clock fashion show, complete with music performances. General Admissions Tickets start at $35, while VIP Tickets start at $85 – both contingent on ticket supply. Currently, this event is looking for designers to showcase at the Saturday, April 18, 2020 Shows. Designers can either present at Emerging Fashion Designer Showcase (4 p.m.) or NY Fashion MEETS DC Fashion (7 p.m.). Presenters in these shows will receive press coverage and promotion of their brand.
