Happy Thanksgiving, fashion Makers, movers, and shakers! This month we’re thankful for you, and for the amazing experience we had earlier this month at the 2017 WebSummit, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Last Friday, MakersValley received a $50,000 award from Arch Grants. This Grant, awarded to 96 startups out of a competing 3,000+, will give MakersValley the power to bring new membership benefits to our amazing community of designers.
January 25th, 2017 started out like any other day for the MakersValley team. From the US, Italy, and Argentina, we were all working on building up our infrastructures and serving our customers until we got an email from Sebastian Vidal informing us that we had been selected to become part of the third generation of startups in the Parallel18 accelerator program in Puerto Rico.
Demo Day, the culmination of Parallel 18's five-month startup acceleration program, the end of a journey and the beginning of a new one. The day that 30 startups, including MakersValley, from Puerto Rico, USA, Europe and Latin America all came together and had the opportunity to showcase their companies to international investors. No pressure, right!?
Over the last couple of months, MakersValley has been working in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Our company was selected for Parallel 18, the island’s most innovative startup accelerator program. Even though our time here is coming to an end, we can’t forget that they've taught us to #WorkHardPlayTropical.
The Bring Puerto Rican Designs To Life event, presented by MakersValley on May 4, 2017, at La Social, in Condado was a night to remember!
Local designers, influencers, the press, entrepreneurs and fashion experts, were part of this magnificent event in which MakersValley presented the opportunity to connect directly with Italian manufacturers to local fashion entrepreneurs to jump start their own brands.
